Share your ideas on the Bundaberg Arts & Culture Strategy (2026–2031)

Bundaberg Regional Council is developing a new Arts & Culture Strategy (2026–2031) to guide arts and culture activities in our region over the next five years.

We want to hear from community members, organisations, and sector representatives about what matters most for arts and culture in Bundaberg. Your input will help us understand community needs and priorities.

We are seeking your feedback on whether the following areas reflect current needs, gaps and opportunities in Bundaberg, and how they could be strengthened or reshaped to better fit our region:

Local Heritage
Protecting and sharing the stories, traditions and histories of Bundaberg, honouring First Nations, South Sea Islander and multicultural communities whose generations have shaped our region.

Social Connection
Supporting inclusive communities where people feel a sense of belonging, strengthen understanding of diverse cultures, and can access free or low-cost creative and cultural experiences.

Professional Pathways
Creating meaningful development and career opportunities for local artists and creatives through sector-led programs, professional development, mentorship and sustainable pathways.

Grow Creatives
Inspiring children and young people to see Bundaberg as a place of possibility through arts experiences that build curiosity, confidence and creative thinking, and support retention of young creatives in the region.

Space to Create
Providing sustainable, accessible and inclusive spaces for making, rehearsing and presenting work, and fostering safe environments for collaboration and creative exchange.

Creating Wellbeing
Recognising the role of arts and culture in community health and wellbeing by supporting experiences that build resilience, connection and quality of life.
